COVID-19 in Moldova: Another 264 confirmed cases and three new deaths caused by infection

Another 264 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today in Moldova, three of which in the Transnistrian region. At the same time, the Ministry of Health informs about the death of three other people infected with the new type of coronavirus. Thus, the balance of the deceased amounts to 331 cases.

According to the Ministry’s statement, another woman and two men died today. It is about a 65-year-old woman from Bălţi, hospitalized on May 30, at the Bălţi Clinical Hospital. She suffered from cerebral edema, high blood pressure and obesity gr. III. The second victim is a 78-year-old man from Straseni district, hospitalized on May 19, at the Institute of Emergency Medicine. The man suffered from hypertension, hypertensive heart disease, mixed hypoxic and discirculatory encephalopathy gr. III. A 71-year-old man from Cahul district died. He was hospitalized on May 5 at  the Institute of Emergency Medicine. The man had hypertensive heart disease, chronic bronchopneumonia, diabetes, obesity.

Of the total number of cases registered on this day, 25 are employees of the healthcare system: doctors - 7, nurses - 11, auxiliary staff - 7.

In all, there are 95111 people infected with the new coronavirus.
